Lifelong Faith Formation
Lifelong Faith Formation supports parishioners of all ages in “developing a personal relationship with Jesus as the foundation of discipleship.” [Catechism of the Catholic Church, 426] This is meant to lead to a full, conscious and active LIVING out of our Catholic faith in the areas of WORSHIP, COMMUNITY, and SERVICE.
Wednesday Faith Formation
Wednesday Faith Formation sessions are provided for children who attend public schools, PK-12th grade, on Wednesday evenings from the month of September to May. Please visit our Faith Formation page for more information.
Sacramental Catechesis
Sacramental Catechesis is provided – immediate preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion – for children, parents, and any interested adults. Eight such sessions are held throughout the year.
Volunteering for Faith Formation Programs
Volunteers are needed for all Faith Formation programs. We are in need of Catechists, co-Catechists, Catechist assistants, Hall monitors, and hospitality ministers. High school students who are willing to commit to regular participation are welcome to be assistants. Two co-Catechists, or a catechist and an assistant, work with a group of fifteen or less children. A love of children and of our Catholic faith is essential to this ministry.
Hall Monitors are models of Catholic hospitality. They unlock sharing group rooms and assist with distributing materials. They guide parents and children to their sharing groups, while remaining in the hall throughout the session, available to assist as needed. At the end of the session, they assist with returning materials and locking up.
All persons who wish to volunteer must go through fingerprinting and an FBI background check before beginning.
Adult Enrichment
Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) and Children
This process invites adults and children to prepare to be baptized in the Catholic Church (if not already baptized), receive First Communion, and be confirmed or make a profession of faith to come into full communion with the Catholic Church. Many ministers are needed to support this preparation:
- Sponsors
- Prayers partners
- Catechists
- Retreat Leaders
Training is provided by the parish.
Ministry of Mothers Sharing (MOMS)
This eight-week program is for mothers (married, single, divorced, widowed, stepmother, grandmother, etc.) interested in developing self esteem, relationship skills, and deepening her sense of spirituality. All ages are welcome. Those who attend develop deep personal friendships and become eager to reach out to our parish family to share their gifts and strenghts in the future. Women who are trained by the Diocese of Orlando act as facilitators for the program. We offer a spring and fall session. The group is limited to 15 participants each session.
