We are fast approaching the Lenten and Easter liturgical seasons in the Church. As you will see, this is the busiest time of the year for our ministry. This memo is to outline the upcoming events that will require the services of our ministry.

• Ash Wednesday (February 17, 2010) – Masses will occur at 6:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 10:15 a.m. (School), 12:15 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.
• Ash Wednesday Update: The servers for the 7:00 p.m. Mass are A. Busbee, M. Cummins, and G. Drage.
• Soup Suppers (February 26, 2010) – Soup Suppers will again take place each Friday evening during Lent at 6:00 p.m.. The Ministry of Altar Servers has been assigned the date of February 26, 2010 to assist with serving and cleaning up. All altar servers and their parents who can volunteer to serve are asked to meet in Bishop Grady Hall beginning at 5:15 p.m.
• Stations of the Cross – Each Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. during Lent, we will celebrate the Stations of the Cross. I am looking for three (3) volunteers for each Friday evening. One server to carry the large cross and the other two (2) servers will be carrying candles. If you are interested in serving at one or more of the Stations of the Cross, please let me know.

The dates for Stations of the Cross are:

February 19      March 12

February 26     March 19

March 5             March 26

• Palm Sunday (March 27 / 28, 2010) – I will need at least four (4) servers for the 5:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Masses. Servers wishing to participate at this Mass will be required to attend a short practice session. Volunteers please.
• Holy Thursday (April 1, 2010) – The Mass of the Lord’s Supper will be at 7:00 p.m. I will need five (5) servers. Volunteers please.
• Good Friday (April 2, 2010) – The Celebration of the Passion will occur at 3:00 p.m. I will need five (5) servers. Volunteers please.
• Holy Saturday (April 3, 2010) – The Vigil Mass will take place at 8:00 p.m. I again will need five (5) servers. Servers wishing to participate in this most Holy of Masses must attend a practice session on April 3rd after Morning Prayer and the Blessing of the Food, which starts at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers please.
• Easter Masses (April 4, 2010) – Masses will occur at 6:30 a.m. (Sunrise Mass under the Pines), 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 12:45 p.m. I will need a minimum of three (3) servers at each Mass. Volunteers please.

As you can see, our ministry has a great deal of upcoming responsibility to fulfill. The above noted Masses (except for Palm Sunday, the Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday) are in addition to the regular weekend Masses during this period. Those wishing to participate in any of the above events, please send me an email by Sunday, February 7, 2010.

For those families planning to be out of town during the upcoming Spring Break, please send me an email so that I can schedule the Masses during the break, accordingly.
