Baptismal Preparation

This ministry is responsible for the initial interview of parents seeking baptism for their children, conducting the preparation classes, and attending the baptisms conducted at Saint Charles. The preparation classes are held approximately every other month for about 1.5 hours of interactive discussions and are generally intended to provide an opportunity for the parents to meet an active member of the parish. Initial interviews are conducted on a flexible basis.

Coffee and Donuts

Refreshments are served following the 7:30, 9:00, and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Masses, excluding summer months. It is hosted by a different parish ministry each Sunday.

Council of Catholic Women

The CCW is open to all women of St. Charles parish. It organizes and provides volunteers to meet any parish and/or community needs.

Evangelization and Welcoming

This committee meets, greets, and registers new parishioners on the first weekend of each month. People of all ages are encouraged to join this committee (middle school and up).

Fellowship Ministry

Members of this ministry plan and implement social activities for the church and school. Some activities are: St. Charles annual Fall Festival, parish picnic, chili cook-off, fund raising, sports activities, Casino Night, Lenten Soup Suppers, and Middle School Campout.

Finance Council

The Council is an advisory group that is invited by the pastor to advise on matters concerning stewardship, use, acquisition, and disposition of material resources of the parish. Membership is a three-year commitment; there are ten meetings a year.

FOCCUS/Marriage Preparation

(Facilitating Open Couple Communication, Understanding Study) Married couples meet with engaged couples during marriage preparation to discuss the FOCCUS instrument and areas of communication. Training is provided by the diocesan Family Life Office.

Knights of Columbus

Council 5150, Our Lady of the Lakes – The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men’s fraternal organization devoted to church, family, and charity. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at the Knights’ hall on Silver Star Road. Please click here for more information on the Knights.

Office Volunteers

Office volunteers assist, as needed, in the parish office by greeting people and performing miscellaneous clerical, computer data entry, and sacramental record entry tasks.

Seniors 50+ Club

The 50+ Club is a spiritual, social, and entertainment organization for senior parishioners. Members volunteer for many parish ministries and at various parish functions. The organization sponsors trips and activities for interested seniors.

Tithing Tabulators

The weekly tithe offered by parishioners is counted and recorded by five teams of parishioners on Monday mornings. Requirements for participation include confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to give approximately three hours of service a month.
